As we reflect on the past year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the unwavering support and dedication of our community. The Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation continues to illuminate the lives of students and families within our schools, made possible through the generosity of our donors, supporters, and partners.
In 2024, your generosity enabled us to extend a helping hand to over 270 students and 158 families across 37 schools. Through initiatives such as our #ForetheKids Charity Golf Classic, Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation Gala, Giving Tuesday, Student Walk for Hope, and other impactful activities, we have been blessed to provide essential resources and opportunities to those in need. This year alone, we raised $106,901, bringing our total funds raised since our humble beginnings in 2014 to an incredible $720,000.
This achievement is a testament to the power of collective goodwill and the deep connection and commitment to the virtue of Charity. Together, as donors, volunteers, and partners, you have helped us foster a nurturing and supportive environment for Durham Catholic students. Your contributions not only address immediate needs but also create a foundation for academic, social, and emotional growth for every child we serve.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the members of our Board of Directors, including those whose terms concluded in 2024. A special thank you to Tracy Barill (President and DCDSB Senior Leadership Representative), Stan Karwowski (Community Representative) and Mike Goff (DCDSB Principal/Vice Principal Representative) for your dedication to the Durham Catholic Children's Foundation. Your leadership and vision have been integral to the Foundation’s success, and your contributions will continue to inspire our mission and vision.
As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting the well-being and development of students and families in the Durham Catholic learning community. Guided by faith, hope, and love, we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that every student has the resources they need to flourish.
